Cavallo Farms Horse Show – March 28, 2015
Horse shows are always full of fun and excitement! What a lot of people don’t know is how valuable attending a horse show is for a rider’s education. Horse shows are an excellent diagnostic tool to identify aspects of a rider’s skill set that need improvement, gaps in a horse’s training or care, and even when it’s time for a horse & rider pair to progress to the next level in their training. Because showing is such an integral part of the development of a well-rounded rider, CV Equestrian travels as often as possible to places like Cavallo Farms in Tallahassee to test our skills, and have fun too!
Our riders performed very well in their divisions, bringing home lots of great ribbons.
Riding aboard Cash for Gold (“Cash”), Portia competed in Puddle Jumpers and the Intermediate division. This was their debut in the jumper division, and they proved they were up to the challenge bringing home blue ribbons in both classes! The pony and rider duo also earned great ribbons in their hunter division.
Anna Kay was up next riding her lovely thoroughbred mare, Apricot Glow (“Cottie”), in Mini Hunter and Baby Green. In her first time showing over 2’6″ jumps, Anna Kay rode very well earning 1st and 2nd place in the Baby Green hunter over fences classes. She and Cottie placed 4th in her remaining 4 classes – Baby Green hunter under saddle, two Mini Hunter over fences trips, and the Mini Hunter under saddle. Overall, the pair placed very well for their first time showing in these divisions.
Congratulations to our riders on their excellent rides this weekend! We will continue to grow and improve as we prepare for the Flying Colors Spring Horse Show on April 25th.
